This months publication of InStyle magazine had a great spread on Eva Mendes and her creative eye for vintage. Her new clothing line for the New York & Company collection are chic vintage pieces that are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe.
She shares three tips when looking for vintage clothing which I absolutely loved! InStyle writes;
1. FOCUS YOUR SEARCH
“I get my best finds at Goodwill and the Salvation Army,” says Mendes. “The selection can be overwhelming, so I let color dictate. I look for color or print that catches my eye and zero in.”
2. GO EXPLORING
“I don’t have a favorite spot– It’s about trying different places.”
3. MAKE A TAILOR YOUR BFF
Don’t worry if that fab 60’s shift isn’t a perfect fit or even has a year or two. “When you buy a piece that’s vintage, accept that is will need to be repaired and tailored,” says Mendes.
